Westwood Praise Band: Contemporary Christian Music utilizes Singers, keyboard, guitar, drums and other instruments. These musicians lead weekly in worship at the second service. Rehearsals are weekly.
Brass, Woodwind, Strings, Percussion Instrumentalists: There is need of special instrumental offerings in worship on special Sundays. If you play and would like to be contacted, please let the Director of Music Ministries know of your interest.
Westwood Vocal Ensemble (grades 4 – 12) Meets weekly and shares their music in worship once a month with opportunities to sing in locations beyond the church.
Chancel Choir (adult ages) Rehearses weekly and shares in worship twice a month. They sing at other locations upon request or invitation.
Glory Connection II: Gospel Quartet rehearses weekly and leads monthly in worship and sings at outside venues upon request. (substitute singers or accompanists are needed from time to time)
Special Music Offerings: Opportunities exist to share special music, especially in the summer months. If you are not able to make a weekly commitment but you love singing or playing your instrument, you might consider being available for this.
Small Vocal Ensembles: Women’s and Men’s ensembles occur occasionally, meeting for 2 or 3 rehearsals before sharing in worship. (A short term commitment, that welcomes those interested)
Westwood Handbell Ensemble: (ages post high and beyond) meets weekly and plays in worship monthly. Attends Festivals and plays at outside functions upon invitation.
Chimes: (grades 3 & up) meets weekly and is a learn to ring class for young people. They play occasionally in worship.
Moving Praise: A liturgical dance and signing group that participates in worship about 6 times a year.
Drama: – Young teens through adults are utilized occasionally in dramas for worship and other occasions at Westwood UMC. If you have a flare for the dramatic, this is for you.
