Lois
Moeller, Administrative Assistant
When you call Westwood UMC, I am the first person to whom you
will speak. My husband and I are
choir members and have gone through the Alpha Course which deepened our faith
in Jesus Christ. Westwood is a
welcoming family and the Lord is always with us as we work, study and play
together. I feel I have been
called to be a part of the Westwood family and I will do my best to help you
or direct you to the appropriate person.
Westwood has many programs and activities, something for everyone and
every age. The church office is
open Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to
5:00 p.m.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Jane Wright, Director of Worship and Fine Arts
There are hosts of opportunities that will bless
willing hearts. With choral,
handbell and drama groups for all ages, there are ways to minister within
the arts. Worship has
opportunities for technical people (audio and visual,) people willing to
usher, e worship assistants, provide childcare in the nursery, serve on the
communion team, altar team, greeters or hospitality teams. You can contact Jane by email at
jwright-wumc@sbcglobal.net or by phone at (269) 344-7165.
She will be glad to steer you in the direction of the appropriate team
coordinator or leader. Another contact for worship is Matt
Knewtson. You can get his information below.
Bob Strobel,
Lay Leader
Louise Jameson,
Lay Minister of Spiritual Formation
We invite you to participate in the many spiritual
formation opportunities at Westwood United Methodist Church. We offer many choices for children, youth and adults through
Sunday and mid-week church school classes, Bible studies, and prayer groups. As a diverse congregation, we offer various
studies-social issues, ongoing adult Bible studies (including the Disciple Bible Study series), 4th Day Emmaus groups,
fellowship groups, and Partners in Prayer. Some spiritual formation groups are on-going while others are
new every six to eight weeks or more. We welcome new faces and we are open and encouraging to the formation
of new studies and new groups. Our desire in spiritual formation is to grow in our faith as we work together to
be faithful disciples and “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18.
Matt
Knewtson, Lay Minister of Worship
In the same way an ember
removed from a fire quickly cools, we can cool to the presence of God without
the ongoing touch from a community on fire in the faith.
We strive to make worship at Westwood a vital, life-giving celebration
of God’s presence in our lives. Each
week we are challenged to go forth into the world where we work and live and
play to offer Christ, grow in faith, touch lives and make a difference.
Come be a part of the celebration that empowers us and glorifies God.
If you have any questions or comments about the worship experience at
Westwood, or if you would like to get involved in the planning or production
of our celebrations you may contact me by e-mail at Matt@Knewtson.com.
